About James Sturcke Photography
My style can simply be described as: Narration and Emotion. I arrive early, leave late and use the time I’m with you to tell the story of the day as it unfolds. A wedding day is full of emotions and capturing them is key to what I do. I’m not that big on setting up poses (though I’m happy to do group shots) or telling your guests to pause and look at the camera.
I use the skills I attained during my journalistic career, chiefly patience, observation and anticipation. I hardly use flash and don’t like bulky equipment. Most of my clients pretty quickly forget that I’m even there. The result is a sensational set of largely spontaneous images that you’ll treasure for years to come.
I work for myself and by myself. I love it when people come with ideas of what they want photographed because I like working out “the how”. I’m flexible in a way that only small teams can be.
My service includes a professionally produced album. You will also receive high resolution photos and I will upload a selection of the best images to the internet where your friends and family can view them. If you like the photos here, please don’t hesitate to get it touch.
I specialise photographing people doing what they love. If you’re a keen cook, we’ll set up in the kitchen. An outdoor type? Let’s go to the mountains. I enjoy the challenge of capturing people in their natural environment in completely different settings.
Behind every great business is a great photographer! Corporate portraits, product photography and coverage of your business in action.
